چکیده
Pan evaporative changes are one of the key components water resources management a river basin under changing climate and anthropogenic-induced warming. The present study was undertaken for transboundary Godavari River (India) to identify trends in pan evaporation (Epan) by non-parametric Mann–Kendall (MK) test annual, seasonal monthly time scales. Pettitt test, also used this detect abrupt mean distribution Epan basin. Furthermore, stepwise regression analysis performed find out cause observed On (monthly) scales, statistically significant decreasing were witnessed pre-monsoon season (in months March, April May) all seven sites other hand, four increasing minimum temperature (maximum temperature) month July (December) monsoon (post-monsoon) Statistically (increasing) wind speed (relative humidity) March at these support decline demand leading possible enhancement total yield Results showed that followed relative humidity found be two main causative parameters warmer environments Pettitt’s shows year 1991–1992 probable change

Resilience in Transboundary Water Governance: the Okavango River Basin
When the availability of a vital resource varies between times of overabundance and extreme scarcity, management regimes must manifest flexibility and authority to adapt while maintaining legitimacy. Unfortunately, the need for adaptability often conflicts with the desire for certainty in legal and regulatory regimes, and laws that fail to account for variability often result in conflict when t...

The deteriorating water quality of the Danube River and the ecological problems created by its continuing exploitation for electricity generation are major issues facing countries in the Danube River Basin. In response, representatives from the eight Danube riparian countries have recently declared their willingness to cooperate on the management of this important European river. In the absence...
متن کاملLand Use and Land Cover Changes in a Tropical River Basin: A Case from Bharathapuzha River Basin, Southern India
A study of the spatial and temporal changes in land use and land cover (LULC) was conducted using Remote Sensing and GIS. We analyzed the LULC of Bharathapuzha river basin, south India using multispectral LANDSAT imageries of 1973-2005 time periods. 31% depletion in the natural vegetation cover and 8.7% depletion in wetland agriculture area were seen in the basin during the period. On the other...
متن کاملWater-Energy-Food Nexus in a Transboundary River Basin: The Case of Tonle Sap Lake, Mekong River Basin
The water-energy-food nexus is promoted as a new approach for research and policy-making. But what does the nexus mean in practice and what kinds of benefits does it bring? In this article we share our experiences with using a nexus approach in Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake area. We conclude that water, energy and food security are very closely linked, both in the Tonle Sap and in the transboundary...

Information is provided about the approach and experience in flood management in the Damodar river basin of India. This is achieved through a scheme for the integrated operation of a number of reservoirs on that river and on its tributaries for the purpose of irrigation, hydropower generation and flood protection. Of particular interest is the recent change in policy towards a multi-disciplinar...
